"Oh my God!!! This book gutted me!!!
Ok before I gush about the angst and the damn heart break and emotional breakdown that I am having right now, let me start by saying I loved this book so much!! It had me screaming, laughing, and pushing back tears, sometimes all at the same time.
This book had me questioning everything I thought I knew and understood about PNR while riding out this amazing story through the twists and turns of time.
Time play is so hard. And it is especially hard to get it right. And that's exactly what Byers accomplishes.
Wow! My mind is blown! I hate and love her right now. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with these characters.
I mean William is everything!! I was all over this guy from the very moment I met him. Emily is sarcastic and witty and just this perfect blend of independent yet vulnerable. So intriguing.
The whole time I was trying to figure this story out and every time I thought I had it sorted ... BAM! Unseen twist at your door step!
As a PNR lover my heart is broken in the best possible way. I am left emotionally invested and unstable. In the best possible way.

"Lighting souls on fire!
I have been so intrigued with this book for the past week that I couldn't get anything done!
From the beginning page to the last, my mouth has been open and my eyes bulging with OMG, what is happening?
The love, the passion, the timeless longing. What else could you want that J.R. Byers doesn't give you in this book?
I love the characters and how they have such strong personalities, but none are overpowering. They complement each other so well. I find myself wanting to know so much about each of them that they could have their own stand-alone books.
The storyline was one I didn't see coming, but when I did, I found myself reading in a Scottish accent and I am pure American.
I just fell in love and I am anxiously awaiting the next book because I have to find out what is going on.

"Historical romance. Brilliant!
This is the first book of J.R. Byers I have read and it will not be the last.
I devoured this book, bumped it up my t b r list to read and I was not disappointed.
It’s brilliantly written, edited lovely, and flows, keeping you gripped from the very start. And now I need to read book 2 to find out what happens .
The story jumps through time as it introduces the characters. And they are brilliant. The interest they are showing to one another is intensely romantic, despite the distance. And good old google is a mine of information for them.
I would thoroughly recommend this beautifully written story."

"Get ready to be week in the knees!
Oh, sweet baby Kane Blackwood! I vividly pictured him in my head, and I need to go live in Scotland until I find him, LOL.
Let me tell you that I turned 1000 shades of Sunday with this book. I shed a tear, and not because I was sad by any means.
The bedroom scenes had me so emotional I cried. Like, was I in bed with this man? No, but it sure felt like he was speaking the words to me. This author is good at finding ways to make the readers feel every single emotion of the characters.
You will get lost inside this book. This series is good, really good. A storyline that can bridge a gap from the 1700s to the modern-day yet feel fluid is not easy, but somehow the author can do that. An author who can make you feel the emotions to the point of your heart fluttering out of your chest and tears rolling down your eyes without you realizing it's happening is rare. Hold onto this one, folks. I've already asked to be an ARC or Beta reader for the rest of her books because I have no patience and need more. The characters are real, and I need them in my brain. LOL."

Kane Blackwood a Scottish man whose been alive for too many decades. Waiting for his his wife who died way back in the early days of his life.
Emily Snow an antique dealer in Colorado with a painting of Kane (William) from the 1700s.
It’s a Wonderful romantic story. The story in realistic and the characters great!"
